Maties proudly hosted the University Sport South Africa (USSA) Swimming Championships in Stellenbosch, bringing together top student swimmers from across the country for two days of intense racing, personal bests, and memorable finishes at the Maties Outdoor Pool. The atmosphere was electric, and our swimmers delivered an outstanding overall silver medal performance for Maties Swimming.
On the first day, Maties made a powerful start. By the end of the evening, the team secured second place overall with a combined score of 583 points. Fans, family, and teammates filled the pool area, cheering for every stroke and finish.
As the championship progressed, Maties maintained consistency and composure. Swimmers strived for finals, excelling in both relays and individual events. This momentum carried through to the final session. By the end of the competition, Maties emerged as silver medallists in the USSA Swimming Championships.
The second-place finish was well-earned. A heartfelt thank you to every Maties swimmer, coach, volunteer, and supporter that braved the Stellenbosch sun.
