Maties Sport Appoint Kamaal Sait as New Head Coach of Maties Women’s Football

Maties Sport is excited to announce the appointment of Kamaal Sait as the new head coach of the Maties Women’s Football team. This marks a significant step forward for Stellenbosch University’s women’s football programme, aiming to enhance performance, visibility, and community engagement.

Kamaal Sait brings a wealth of experience to the role. A former professional player, he has represented clubs such as Santos, AmaZulu, and Orlando Pirates. Following his playing career, Sait transitioned into coaching and educator roles, earning a CAF A License and serving as a coach educator. His commitment to developing women’s football in South Africa is evident, particularly in supporting coaching and player pathways within the women’s game.

Upon his appointment, Sait expressed his enthusiasm:

“It is an immense honour to lead Maties Women’s Football. I respect what has been built here under past leadership, and I intend to build on that foundation. My goal is to create a competitive, resilient, and developmentally strong side that can represent Maties with pride. I look forward to working with the players, staff, and the university.”

The coming months will be pivotal as Sait evaluates the current squad, implements his training philosophy, and prepares for the University Sport South Africa Football Championships in November, hosted by Wits from 26–29 November 2025.
